Homeowners

Hey, congrats on buying an EV! Great decision! So now you want to make sure you can charge your EV at home in the fastest, most cost-efficient way possible. Bullet EV can help!

Bullet EV’s technicians can provide you with a free in-home assessment to evaluate what type of EV charger your home’s wiring and electrical service can support. Our trained experts will help you understand the different charging technologies, regulatory and permitting requirements and technical and safety standards. Bullet EV’s technicians are here to help!

For home use, there are two types of chargers – Level 1 and Level 2.
Level 1

Level 1 home chargers are hooked up to a standard 120-volt electrical outlet, but don’t produce a lot of juice for your EV. Level 1 chargers only provide about 5 miles of driving range per hour of charging.

Level 2

Level 2 home chargers are 4x faster than Level 1 chargers and can provide about 25 miles per hour of charge. Drivers with longer commutes or those who just want a faster charge should consider Level 2. A Bullet EV technician can come to your home to install 240-volt outlet on a dedicated circuit. If our electrician determines your electrical panel does not have the capacity for a Level 2 charging station and you are unable to upgrade your panel at the time, you can request to have a 120-volt grounded wall outlet installed at an accessible location for Level 1 charging.

For most EV owners, over 80% of EV charging will be done at home. Of course, the electricity you use when charging your EV will increase your monthly electricity bill. But, depending on where you live, your power company may offer special EV charging rates.

Don’t forget about all that free government money. Economic incentives are a major part of EV adoption. There are four primary types of EV incentives – EV Tax Credits & Rebates, EV Charging Station Incentives, Electricity Discounts and EV Driving Perks. Bullet EV can provide you with the resources you need to apply for the latest incentives and rebates to make EV ownership more affordable.
